We are super excited to have Innes Bushell join the GameInfluencer Family as a new Campaign Manager! Innes joined us in November, bringing his marketing experience, creativity, and passion for video games and adding new energy and drive to our campaigns.

Before joining GameInfluencer, Innes had already worked in the influencer marketing industry at Code Red Esports. He supported brands in entering the gaming and esports industries on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. Later in 2022, being inspired by Alex Lund Scobie (our Head of Creator Communication), Innes was introduced to the team and, after a while, joined GameInfuencer.

Working as a Campaign Manager, Innes is responsible for curating influencers, maintaining communications and negotiations between the creators and brands, and ensuring the success of the campaigns. We had an exciting chat with Innes about his new position, working in the gaming industry and GameInfluencer, favorite video games, and inspiration. Let’s see what life at GameInfluencer looks like.

I have always had a keen interest in games and knew from a young age that I wanted to make a career out of it somehow, but never really knew what form it would take. I was never very good at computers or programming, but I enjoyed business and marketing at school, so that was where I started. As I grew up and went to university, the industry evolved and expanded. The influencer marketing industry was a natural choice” – Innes says.

What are you most excited about as a new employee?

One of the most exciting things is definitely the clients we work with. It’s an absolute pleasure to work with some of the biggest publishers in the industry. It’s a fantastic feeling to have the opportunity to work alongside game companies that I’ve followed for many years.

What are some of your favourite things about working in the gaming industry?

It’s hard to put into words but I feel at home here. I don’t like the phrase and I don’t want to sound cheesy, but I suppose it’s always been my dream job. I couldn’t really tell you what my “dream job” is specifically, and I don’t think life is that simple. But whatever that job is, for me it’s right here in this industry.

What do you hope to learn or gain from working at GameInfluencer and/or in the gaming industry?

There are many skills that I’m sure I’ll learn and improve on during my time here at GameInfluencer. I’m surrounded by so many brilliant minds, I’m very lucky. But in terms of the games industry, I just want more. I want to experience every facet of it. Especially the influencers; I enjoy getting to know them, particularly the micro-influencers. It’s a really rewarding feeling when you help them achieve their dreams.

Top 3 your most favourite video games.

1. Escape from Tarkov, but it’s a love/hate relationship.

2. Skyrim. I don’t think I’ve sunk more hours into any other game, but Tarkov comes close.

3. It’s really hard to name a third, but probably Europa Universalis 4. Many of the Paradox Interactive games are equile to me, but if I had to pick one, it’s got to be EU4.

Top 3 gaming influencers you follow yourself.

1. Limmy, Scotland’s national treasure.

2. TheSpiffingBrit, his videos are hilarious and really well put together.

3. The Dungeon Dudes, they do a really good job of providing informative D&D content.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Aside from being a gamer, which you’ve probably already guessed, I’m a big fan of Dungeons & Dragons. The stories you build together are honestly up there with epics like Game of Thrones, but only shared with you and your friends. I also do non-geeky things. I’m lucky enough to live in Scotland, so I take full advantage of that. I love hiking and camping in this beautiful country.

We are happy to have Innes on board and are looking forward to the many successful campaigns he will run at GameInfluencer. Welcome, Innes!
