How Gamigo successfully used influencer marketing for the game’s launch, in-game update, and cosplay contest
In June 2021, we started an exciting and creative collaboration with Gamigo, a leading publisher of various Free2Play MMORPGs and MMOGs. Gamigo contacted us to launch an influencer marketing campaign to support the launch of their game, Trove, on Nintendo Switch.
Trove is an open-ended voxel adventure through countless realms filled with quests, chests, and enemies, great and small. It’s a potent, cube-shaped brew of RPG features combined with the thrill of exploring procedurally-generated worlds – and the unlimited creative freedom to build your own.
We successfully not only launched Trove on a new console, but also supported the Gamigo team with their in-game update and cosplay contest on TikTok. The campaign consisted of 3 major milestones and resulted in collaborations with 4 TikTok influencers who produced 14 creative ads and gained over 10M impressions. Campaign Goal
Game launch on Nintendo Switch (June 2021)
The campaign goal was to develop and execute a strategy to support Gamigo in launching Trove on Nintendo Switch for the US and CA markets. During the campaign period we tremendously increased brand awareness and attracted new players by creating buzz on social media.
We produced video ads on TikTok and conducted A/B tests to determine the most effective creatives. As a result, we collaborated with 4 TikTok influencers who recorded 8 funny and entertaining videos showcasing Trove’s attributes together with Nintendo Switch. This brought us over 4.8M impressions.
In-game Update: Lunar Plunge Campaign (September 2021)
From August to September 2021, Gamigo ran a new Lunar Plunge Event. The goal of the in-game event was to support and revive Moon Goddess’ name while also introducing a new character – Sun Acolyte Tauri (Lunar Knight). Moreover, during the event, the players could acquire new assets and rewards, i.e., Tainted Lunar Drop, Star Trail, Lunar Knight Qubesly, and Q’Trex.
To promote this in-game update, we partnered with coreytonge, im_a_gin, and reidboehm from TikTok, who produced 4 amazing videos promoting the Lunar Plunge campaign. The result was great: generating over 4.4M impressions!
Cosplay TikTok Contest (August 2022)
In August 2022, we helped Gamigo execute an influencer marketing campaign on TikTok to celebrate Trove’s new game update called “Sunrise” which also introduced a new in-game class – Solarion.
To get players excited, we partnered again with coreytonge and reidboehm. Both created new promotional videos, inviting the viewers to take part in the cosplay competition. The influencers also added the event’s page in their bios and participated as the jury. As a result, the videos got over 126.8K views and 5K+ likes.

Fan Engagement
Trove definitely has its own loyal audience. So many players were very excited to learn about the new in-game updates and being able to play the game on Nintendo Switch. The promotional videos also attracted a lot of new players who got interested after watching our funny ads on TikTok.
